Join the facebook event:

"Unsilent Night" is a yearly event that's unlike anything you've experienced before-- we promise you.

Written in 1992, Unsilent Night is a 43-minute piece specifically made to be heard outdoors in mid-December. This piece takes the form of a street promenade in which the audience becomes the performer. Each participant gets one of four tracks of music that can easily be downloaded on your smart phone, prior to your arrival. When participants play their different “parts” simultaneously, it helps create the special sound of the piece.

A few key things to know before you arrive! There are different ways to participate: smartphones, boomboxes, laptops, mp3 players, or anything that plays music! Download any one of the four tracks here:

Make sure to bring your cell phone fully charged, dress warmly, and wear comfortable shoes. If you have portable speakers for your smartphone or listening device, please bring those as well! Our path this year will take us through North Quad, past Mudd, through Tappan, down Main Street, through the wooded path towards Old Barrows, and finally to the Oberlin Arb.

Hope to see/hear you there!
